Family Seeks Justice After Police Shooting of Uniport Student
The family of Godwin Akpakpan, a 300-level University of Port Harcourt student, is demanding justice after he was fatally shot. The family accuses the police of attempting to cover up the incident.
According to the family, Godwin went missing on April 16 while returning from watching a football match. The next day, his family received a call from a police officer, asking them to come to the State CID.
The police claimed Godwin was shot by an army personnel during a scuffle. However, the family disputes this account, citing inconsistencies and suspicious circumstances.
The family observed two gunshot wounds, bruises, and injuries on Godwin's body, contradicting the police's version of events. They believe the police were responsible for his death.
The family is seeking justice and accountability for Godwin's death. The Rivers State Police Command's Public Relations Officer has been contacted for comment.
The incident raises concerns about police brutality and cover-ups. The family demands a thorough investigation and justice for Godwin's untimely death.
